[Update 8:30 p.m.] Child Injured in Traffic Collision, Southbound Broadway Blocked
A child is injured following an accident on Broadway between a Ford pickup and a white sedan just before 7:30 p.m., according to traffic over the scanner. The accident occurred by the Marie Callender’s Restaurant. An ambulance is on the way. Both southbound lanes on Broadway are blocked at Truesdale. Please avoid the area if possible.
UPDATE 8:33 p.m.: Road open.
UPDATE 7:50 a.m. Wednesday: Brittany Powell a spokesperson for the Eureka Police Department updated us on what occurred last night. She wrote,
The collision happened on 01/19/16 at about 7:25 p.m. The Ford pickup was attempting to turn left on Truesdale Street and broadsided a white sedan traveling south on Broadway. The driver of the white sedan and his 3 year old daughter were treated on scene by fire and ambulance personnel with minor complaint of pain. Southbound Broadway was closed briefly and opened when tow trucks removed the vehicles.
