[UPDATE: One Way Controlled Traffic] Tree Down Blocking Hwy 101

A tree fell blocking Hwy 101 at mile marker 21 in Del Norte County around 11 a.m, confirmed a California Highway Patrol spokesperson. The road is completely closed at this time though as of 11:55 a.m. the California Highway Patrol Incident page is predicting that the road “may have one way controlled traffic soon.”

UPDATE 12:19 p.m.: The incident has one way controlled traffic now.

UPDATE 12:41 p.m.: Hwy 299 and Hwy 96 are closed due to slides. (Click here for more information on those roads.)

UPDATE 1:02 p.m.: Caltrans has posted a photo of the fallen tree.
