[UPDATE: Major Injuries] Motorcyclist Unconscious After Accident

A motorcyclist is down and unconscious following an accident before 9:23 a.m. near the intersection of Elk Creek Road and Dyerville Loop Road.

A spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol says that officers are still at the scene so please be careful in the area.

UPDATE 10:12 a.m.: The California Highway Patrol Incident page states that the motorcyclist has “major injuries” and is being transported to the hospital by City Ambulance.

*family* they flew him to Santa Rosa.. He has head trauma. The best we can do is just pray he recovers. We are still waiting on more information.

He was brought out of sedation but couldn’t handle it so they put him back under. His bleed isn’t has bad as the once thought. The swelling in his brain needs to come down. He is still intubated. He needs our prayers.

It’s pretty remote over there. As the mother of motorcycle riders on remote country roads, this raises so many questions: Was he alone? How did he get help? Did his helmet fail?
My son, too, suffered a traumatic brain injury and recovered. I am praying for the injured rider and his family.
