Definitely in the Pine Hill section of Eureka. We thought a meth lab had exploded, but a minute or so later, we heard fireworks going off. Shook things enough to make the power go out on a couple of appliance clocks.

Just hypersonic military jets passing through the area. They have been doing it for years. Probably best not wasting EPD time.

This, I think, was a large, commercial-scale fireworks rocket launched close to me, near where Sea Avenue intersects with Union in Eureka.
I heard a loud — as in major fireworks-loud — “Phhhht!” At first I thought that it was something I had done in the house, so I tried to re-create the sound and it didn’t happen. Then the hugest BOOM. It was HUGE, biggest yet for me. The sequence of sounds leads me to think that it was a rocket launched nearby.
I looked out the window, and I could see a trail of smoke drifting off across Union Street. I think some folks have some major fireworks, and they set them off from time to time. . .
I don’t buy in to the crazies and their conspiracy theories for everything they don’t understand.
A couple years ago there was some video footage from an outside surveillance camera at the time of a large boom that captured a glow illuminating an area with buildings, showing their shadows moving rapidly across the ground, as though caused by a rapidly rising glowing object. I think it was the lost coast outpost* that had that footage.
Again, consistent with a large caliber fireworks type of rocket.
