Dumpster Fire At Bayfront One

DSC00009

Wondering about those sirens, Eurekans?

Humboldt Bay Fire responded to a report of a structure fire near the intersection of First and F Street in Eureka a little before 5:30 a.m. today. When fire crews arrived at the scene, they reported that there was a dumpster on fire with apartments above it.

Our reporter Bobby Kroeker rushed down to the scene and snapped some photos. He reported that Engine 8181 had a ladder running up to the roof, but the fire didn’t appear to have spread to the residences.

They weren’t sure if it was gonna have spread to the apartments right above it by the time they got there. It’s better to bring a tool and not need it then to need it and not have it.

Happy no one was hurt and hopefully they are able to rebuild the area. Fires cause some big damage, but sometimes you can get lucky and save most of it.
