Escaped Inmate May Be Heading to Humboldt County

A Humboldt County man has escaped from a Siskiyou County Conservation Camp. A BOLO (Be on the Lookout) has been issued by the Sheriff of that county.

Daniel Fidler was arrested for several incidents in Humboldt before being convicted and sent to prison. Fidler was arrested in March when he attempted to break down the door of a elderly Fortuna woman’s home. He was arrested in December of 2013 with guns and stolen vehicles, according to this press release. He was arrested by the Eureka Police on March 12th of this year. According to DA Maggie Fleming, “He ran from the police and had some drugs and that was a violation of his probation….Following that he was arrested for violating his post release community supervision and was brought into custody on 3/30.” He was charged with first degree burglary in a January breakin at a Loleta residence.

Fidler was in San Quentin for a time and eventually sent to the Siskiyou County Conservation Camp.

Below is the information put out on Facebook by the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Department late last night. Because Fidler is from Humboldt, he may be planning on hiding out in his former community.

1915342_1301833696509383_8391009175247160572_n***Be on the Lookout***For an escaped inmate from Deadwood Conservation Camp. White male adult, Daniel Fidler, 5’8 and 175 lbs. Last seen wearing orange clothing or grey sweatpants. May be associated with a stolen truck from Fort Jones area. California plates of 1B92218. Contact the Sheriff’s office with any information at 841-2900 or call 911. Do not pick up any hitch hikers in the area.

UPDATE 1:45 p.m.: Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office press release:

On December 26, 2015, Inmate Daniel Fidler walked away from Deadwood Camp. Inmate Fidler was last seen 12/26/2015 at 7p.m. during head count. He was later discovered missing at 8:30 p.m by camp staff. Inmate Fidler is described as a 42 year old, white male, 5’8”tall and 174 lbs, with hazel eyes and bald head.

This morning (12/27/2015) the stolen truck was locate near mile marker 88 along Hwy 96. We believe Inmate Fidler to be on foot at this time, possibly westbound toward Humboldt County. Citizens are reminded to keep your doors locked and DO NOT pick up any hitchhikers.

The Code Red system was used at 10:p.m last night, to notify local residents of McAdams Creek Rd and Fort Jones, of the potential safety risk. Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Department is currently sending out another Code Red to all citizens along Hwy 96 from Hwy 263 down to the Humboldt County line advising of the public safety concern. If you have any information as to the whereabouts of Inmate Fidler please call 9-1-1. You may also contact Siskiyou County Sheriff’s 24-hour dispatch at (530)841-2900

The dude really doesn’t want to get a regular job. On a more serious note: where exactly is he from in Humboldt? It’s likely he’ll return there. This county is the size of some states.

he has family in the trailer park at jonnys crack house in fortuna and a brother in seattle washington, my guess is he will come here to get dope, gun and a stolen vehicle, then repeat all other offences…he does not do well without supervision, meaning he needs a babysitter
prepare yourselves and be ready to battle, he will rob you at any cost! please beware and act accordingly, remember he cut down that ladies door with an ax to try to get her keys.
not a joke either.

Why is this person at a minimum security prison to begin with? Guns drugs & violence? He should not be at a fire camp. He should have been in real prison.

Yeah, how does a violent, abusive perp get to Conservation Camp? Total disregard for public safety. Le’me guess, he had to put his affairs in order.

They probably needed his bed space in real prison for a non-violent drug offender. (Sarcastically spoken)

San Quentin is mostly a holding/processing facility with a few lifers. It’s rarely a place one is sent to serve out their sentence.

He said as in a camp……….. Now we are concerned he is out in society? For him to be at a camp the prison officials deemed him safe, so why the hype now. When they are in a camp they are out in society working, he must have also been close to wrapping up his sentence. With all the hype it is the media making a stink or the prison system messed up on their placement.

Some clarity. Fire camp inmates wear orange not blue. Blue is worn in prison. Next he was in firecamp because his crimes were non-violent. Meaning no one got hurt in his crimes. His charges may seem violent but technically they are not.

Once he hooks up with White Zombie and they have children……

Generational Humdumery….

Future looks bright, buy a Toyota and get a neck tat to blend in, I guess….

My question is where will the cops run to when it gets bad? There will be tons of lost gear and food there stashed for when it goes down.

Danny has been dealt a hard life. Several year’s ago he lost his brother Donny and last year he lost his dad. Wolfman aka John Fiddler. My hope and prayer for Danny is that he surrenders himself without loosing his life.

Right on April. I know Danny as well. Yeah he has done many terrible things. But on the flip side that dude has helped a lot of people and would give u the shirt off of his back. I’m not saying his good out weighs the bad. But I am saying that its easy for u guys to pass judgement on what u read, but what we read doesn’t always mean it’s all truth. Danny has gone thru a lot. He needs help. Prison doesn’t rehabilitate u. It makes u more of a harden criminal.
