  • At least she wasn’t in fortuna they’ve had a lot of stolen cars in up in there town.

  • Who profits from stolen cars?
Towing companies get miles and storage, body shops bill insurance companies, scrap companies when insurance companies can’t be billed….

Do the cops charge money when they grab a car? Curious about the stolen car industry on both sides…. Red and blue.

    Thanks!

    • the misadventures of bunjee

Cops do not charge a fee. They are not towing companies. They are not part of some “industry”.

      • Sure they do….

Is this bundled into court costs, or is there a threshold for siezure?

It’s a giant industry, even has news choppers covering it, video games. This isn’t free and is turned into bonds and debt.

        Who benefits?

      • My vehicle was stolen and found on Blue Slide Road. Fortuna Police charged me $60 to give me permission to have the car released from the towing place. And the tow business charged me $300 in towing charges. My vehicle was trashed inside.

    • Everyone including the cops, thieves, tow
companies, and the insured customer all benefit. Don’t listen to bungee.

    • The thieves, their fences, the chop shops and exporters. Yes, the exporters.

    • Considering this is Hoopa we’re reading about, the stolen vehicle probably would have been torched had this thieving bitch not been busted in it.

    • The cops don’t charge – but the towing company in this case charged $350. Somehow the cops never think to call the person who the car is registered to? Yeah, I’m pretty sure there’s a reason, and the cops and Buddy’s have a close, loving relationship.

      • How do you know they charged $350?

      • My vehicle was severely vandized by a crazed suicidal housemate in the midst of a destructive assault. The sheriff personal arrive and do nothing basically, don’t even take an official report, just tell me “we see this kind of thing every day, we have other calls to tend to”. I had a life to carry on with, an important nonprofit board meeting to attend in the next hour. Just get myself and still running truck with complete set of freshly busted out windows the heck out of there being thankful I hadn’t been maimed. I park my truck in a nearby neighborhood and carpool away with an associate. When I return the same lady cop that came to my call had called an impound on my truck which was perfectly legally registered. A neighbor had called at the scary looking sight of an unfamiliar truck with all of it’s windows busted. Did the Sherriff bother to call me even though she had my number and had witnessed the extreme loss’ I had just faced just hours before? Serve the people?? No this wasn’t Hoopa but Manila is right in there with the drug crazed misfits

  • Now that the HCSO knows the vehicle was stolen during a burglary on the 22nd will they go arrest the unnamed male who was with her or will they let him stay free to rob and pillage more personal property? I’m guessing the latter.

  • It’s very dangerous to go into hoopa unless you are native . There is always something to do with crime ,so sad that it has become so violent among the people that live there I mean going to the store has become a crap shoot might get Robbed Might get beat up. Could get shot or all the above I don’t know the answers ,for all this , but there has to be a way . I hope someday we find a solution end meth

    • Making it legal might help. I don’t like tweakers but no matter what they’re on the scene everywhere you look.

It’s a boil on humanity, but so is working in government which has stolen so much more from everyone.

As we transission into the next age of awareness many lies will become truths and telling a lie will become a crime or even sin.

Tweakers are a symptom of decay.

  • I agree with you totaly Barry well said decay meth decay just li k e meth mouth the whole tweekers mentality is decay of their society and our society is affected look behind Bayshore mall with that being said it’s like beating a dead horse. I fear it is going to get alot worse before it gets better

Actually no matter where you go, no matter which community there are folks that prey on the unsuspecting.

Being native does not keep you safe just because you are a native.

Situational awareness is vital and having a keen sense of your gut feelings can keep you out of harms way. Knowing how not to escalate someone intent on causing harm and keeping your home/vehicle secure and knowing who locally may be a risk to your life and property.

Bad stuff happens to all and if you have ever been a victim of a crime, you know the feeling of harm and loss.

May all stay safe and aware.

  • Merry Christmas Lee Anne and happy new yr

  • Always keep away from anyone with that last name. Horrible family every single one of them!
