[UPDATE 11:36 a.m.] Snowing in Trinity County…Chain Requirements!
Remember snow in the interior mountains today. Rain elsewhere (See here for more details.)
Here’s a quick heads up for travelers:
The National Weather Service says, “Snow is falling across interior areas of Northwest California this morning! Chain requirements, as of 7:30 am, are in effect for highways 3, 36, and 299 in Trinity County.”
The rest of the roads out of Humboldt are clear as of 9:15 a.m. Sunday. But you should check these two sources before you head out on the roads.
Caltrans Quick Map: Make sure your upper left corner of the screen looks like this (Check the box next to the yellow triangle to show what roads are impacted):
Caltrans Traffic Cameras for District One–Humboldt, Mendocino, Del Norte: This shows state highways at various places on camera so you can judge for yourself what you will feel comfortable driving in.
UPDATE 11:36 a.m.: Here’s Caltrans Traffic Cameras for District Two–Siskiyou, Shasta, Trinity, Plumas, Lassen, Tehama.
