Pedestrian Walking in the Road Before He Was Hit, Says CHP

This is a press release from the California Highway Patrol. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

chpstarOn the evening of Tuesday, December 16, a pedestrian sustained major injuries after being struck by a passenger van traveling westbound on SR-36 outside of Fortuna.

On December 15, 2015, at 1800 hours, Deputies from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to an intoxicated pedestrian in Hydesville, CA.  Before Deputies could arrive, the pedestrian, later identified as 41 year old Troy Lovergine of Fortuna, CA, had walked west on SR-36.  At 1812 hours, Lovergine stepped out into the westbound lane of SR-36 directly into the path of a westbound Chrysler Town and Country minivan driven by 76 year old Larry Doyle of Carlotta, CA.  Doyle was unable to avoid colliding with Lovergine.  The impact caused major injuries to Lovergine including fractures to his legs and head trauma.  Lovergine was transported to Redwood Memorial Hospital in Fortuna.  None of the minivan occupants were injured.

All occupants were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision and DUI is not believed to be a factor.  The CHP Humboldt Area office is investigating this traffic collision.

At least the driver stopped. That seems to be a rarity anymore. What is it with Humboldt residents? They all wear black. They must think that they are Johnny Cash.

It’s tragic for all parties, especially in the light that it seems like it could have all been avoided.

I don’t know which one to feel saddest for, the driver who will forever be flashbacking to this awful turn of events, or the pedestrian who suffered so trajically.

Perhaps they’re veterans. Did you know 22 veterans per day attempt or commit suicide. Very tragic, let’s all do our best to help someone in need this Holiday season. Semper Fidelis!

They should skip the flu shots and vaccines. The Federal reserve doesn’t want them sharing training with the sheep.

Vaccines kill. Bill Gates is being sued by India for killing people with vaccines.
