I did. I knew the lady that ran it. She owned a bar and had some rental cabins in the back. They called it Sylvandale. Imagine that.

Hi Ernie,

It is fun to learn more of the area’s history. Particularly when the placename fits the one-time reality. The blogosphere misses your postings both here and at your place.

Civil War General Hooker was the origin of the use of hooker for the women camp followers of the day. (Hookers girls)There was quite a brouhaha 30 years ago when a developer in Santa Rosa wanted to call a subdivision “Hooker Oaks” in his memory. I don’t know if Hooker Creek is named for him, but it seems possible.

Once weed is corporate and poverty sets in….

ReNaming things Hooker County and stealing cash from Nevada makes sense.

Need to look to the future and not claw at the past.

Humboldt’s future is hookers and fast food.

Putah Creek is really nice right where it leaves the dam at Lake Berryessa.
I think it was even the inspiration for the song ” Green River ” by John Fogerty as it was were he went summer camping with his parents as a child.

Great picture of a fish, How did you make that ? I assume you made it as I have never seen a fish with high heels, and a eye brow like Groucho Marx, I imagine the fish is transnational, transsexual & anti-Israel.

First off since the accident turned out a minor one I felt comfortable posting on speculation of Hookers Creek.
I snagged the photo at survivors.com. Kudos to them.
On sexual orientation of the fish? Maybe Ted Cruz would know. Our house is doubling up on our donation to Planned Parenthood.
