Rain Coming Tonight, Snow in Mountain Passes
Here’s what to expect, according the National Weather Service in Eureka:
Rain, snow, and small hail will make roads slippery this week. A cold storm system will bring a mix of winter weather to northwest California starting tonight through early Wednesday morning. Snow levels will rapidly fall on Tuesday from around 3000 feet in the morning to nearly 1500 feet by Tuesday night. In addition to rain and snow, small hail will make roads extra slippery on Tuesday. Commuters are advised to make travel plans around the weather. If you must travel during wintery conditions then plan for a little extra time to get to your destination and take it slow especially around those curves. Check weather.gov for weather information and call 1-800-GAS-ROAD for road conditions or checkhttp://quickmap.dot.ca.gov/.
