Driver of Chrysler Mini Van Attempts to Evade Pursuit and Fails
This evening, according to scanner traffic, the Arcata Police and the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department pursued a female driving a silver Chrysler mini van who refused to stop.
A shorter male was in the passenger seat of the fleeing vehicle.
The chase began about 10 minutes after 9 p.m. and continued until roughly 9:25 p.m. on Blue Lake Boulevard eastbound. The driver took an unknown road.
“The last road on the left before you get to the scales at the top,” said the officer. The fleeing vehicle was apparently stopped by a locked gate.
“One subject detained,” said the pursuing officer. “Driver took foot bail [ran off.]”
Then a minute or two later, about 9:28 p.m, an officer with the California Highway Patrol reported they had detained the driver.
