Over 1100 Lose Power in Southern Humboldt

PG&EAt approximately 8 a.m. this morning, power went out for what PG&E says is 1125 customers in Southern Humboldt. The area without power stretches from Redcrest to Phillipsville and from the main stem of the Eel to the east as well as up into Thomas Road in the Salmon Creek area to the west.

The cause is unknown but winds have been gusting in the area for quite some time. Power lines have gone down in quite a few locations on the North Coast overnight. A PG&E crew has been assigned to area to fix the problem. The current estimate of time before the problem will be fixed is 12:30 p.m. You can follow the updates and see other power outages throughout the area by clicking here.

UPDATE 8:49 a.m.: Power restored to all customers in the area.
