Why did I even know this guy? He looks familiar because he would frequent the Rescue Mission Thrift Store. Chuck said his name was Charles and seemed very nice. He usually did not have a beard, was a clean shaven sort. Followed me around the store chattering about himself and being a retired soldier. Then out the door with me he invited his protective big brother side. Just sorta walked with me and was friendly in conversation for 5 minutes then admitted to me that he had been to court once for stalking a woman from a relationship that soured. So I casually told him that OK nice meeting you but here at this corner is where you go your way and I go mine. We left in opposite directions but then about 10 minutes later, there he was again declaring that it was odd we would wind up crossing paths again. It must be fate he said. He was flirting – yes but I gently told him that I was occupied and it would not be cool to get in trouble with my protectors, that I am protected by Shamanic power of the Bear who throws death stars. Even that fact did not get rid of this guy. I never knew he was Native American. He finally gave up on me though. He would happen to run into me at the post office on Clark St so I stopped using that place for business. Seeing now that he is capable of knifing a human is just way too creepy.
