Humboldt CO. Drug Task Force Captures Man With 3.5 Pounds of Methamphetamine

This is a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

imageservlet (55) For the past several months, agents with the Humboldt County Drug Task Force have been investigating a narcotics trafficker who was believed to be supplying large quantities of methamphetamine to persons in the Fortuna area.

On October 30, 2015, agents served a Humboldt County Superior Court search warrant in the 1700 block of Willow Drive, Fortuna. At the residence, agents contacted Edwin Amir PERAZA (Age 29) and a male juvenile. During a search of the residence, agents located approximately 3.5 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, approximately one ounce of suspected Cocaine, a digital scale, and packaging materials.

During the investigation, agents learned PERAZA had been investigated by the Arcata Police Department in 2012. The Arcata Police Department seized 3.5 pounds of methamphetamine and PERAZA was arrested and convicted for possession of approximately ¼ pound of methamphetamine.

PERAZA was arrested for possession of methamphetamine for sales and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility. PERAZA is being held without bail. The male juvenile was unrelated to PERAZA’s activities and was released to a family member.

Anyone with information for the Humboldt County Drug Task Force Office regarding this case or related criminal activity is encouraged to call the Humboldt County Drug Task Force Office at 707-444-8095.IMG_0802

“The Arcata Police Department seized 3.5 pounds of methamphetamine and PERAZA was arrested and convicted for possession of approximately ¼ pound of methamphetamine.”

Now we know how Arcata pays for all their “Traffic Circles”

What is it, a toss of a coin that determines what the bail is or even if they will keep you. Pounds of heroin, coin says you are free to go. Pounds of meth, coins says you stay.

“During the investigation, agents learned PERAZA had been investigated by the Arcata Police Department in 2012. The Arcata Police Department seized 3.5 pounds of methamphetamine and PERAZA was arrested and convicted for possession of approximately ¼ pound of methamphetamine.” This is a little confusing.

You know they can’t release a juvenile’s name. Don’t know if an adult, if not arrested, can have their name released. Any lawyers out there?

Was the juvenile being molested by this thug for dope?

Prolly why he wasn’t let go.

Pretty sure that up to 5 lbs of coke, smack, or speed is legal these days.

Sex crimes aren’t….

He’ll get out quick, but without the meth.yay for that being off the streets.lets keep rolling with the busts, keep this shit off the streets and away from our precious children so they have a chance at life. They are the future and if they see there’s no future in meth then we all feel better about their future.Sorry for rambling but I have seen 1st hand what it does to a life,to a family and it’s devastating

By looking at him I’m just about sure he doesn’t indulge in his product. I’m sure his customers don’t look as healthy.

The Russians kept the Spanish from NorCal, it does appear that we need a cultural revival.

Either way, glad to see Mexican meth off the streets.

Only hire Costa Ricans because they don’t like Mexico.

The Cops should produce a transparent video of it’s destruction, weighed and watched by regular people so the alleged corruption doesn’t become an issue.

What would they have to hide?

There’s a patron saint for drug cartels. Seriously. All illegal narco trafficking. I don’t know if legal weed will have a patron saint pulling for us. Willie Nelson? Not yet. The horseback dude looks like the Christian Roman soldier who cut his cape in half for a beggar. That is just SO not happening! SO first century. Jesus in the middle? Beats me.

Didn’t a Roman Cylon give part of his uniform to cover Jesus on the cross?

Many people don’t know, but Jesus led a revolt against taxation and the empire.

Christians don’t work in government, nor do they pay taxes.

You can’t be a Christian and have a government job.

God hates government.

Its cliche but what is in many movies is too true; this guy will call his “boss” who will pay for an expensive lawyer. The “boss” will then contact whomever they have on the payroll within our county, state & federal systems and get his “employee” out of trouble and back to making money for the “boss”.
Its not much different than when corporate asses get in trouble, different products and skin color but same game.
This guy will most likely never step foot in prison.

An internet search found reports of average use of 1/2 gram a day which works out to about 15 grams a month or about 1/2 ounce per user per month.

This was about 1587 grams, so it would be a 3 day supply for 1,000 people, a month’s supply for 112 people, or somewhere in between.

Either way, that’s still a large number of people to help get off this stuff.

Good math! I like how numbers can tell a story.

What happens when the mutants don’t get a fix? Does crazy crime go up?

Those would be cool numbers to see….

Hell, thats a couple days for the county – I’ll bet 10-50 pounds a week flows through here…..wanna know for sure? Have the sewage outfall of Eureka, Fortuna, etc analysed……they’ll tell you exactly (but only the people that pee in toilets of course ;^p)

$200 plus labor. Elbow….

Mexico should get the neutron bomb, followed up with waves of guys in pick up trucks.

Toppling the government there and freeing the people would score big in the eyes of Central and South Americans.

Having a terrorist nation and culture there has brought down property values.

It costs anywhere between $50 and $100/lb to produce in the big labs (more like pharmaceutical factories) The bribes and paying transport adds a lot…..

Hi Kym. If Peraza is being held without bail, I assume he’s been before a judge. It would be helpful to voters to know the names of the judges in these cases, e.g. the one in Fortuna where the two guys were released on their O.R. Would you be willing to include the name of the judge in your postings? Thanks a lot!

It costs between 2-300$ to produce a lb in a large pharma lab in Mexico biggest expense being raw affedra. Wholesale they get 6500$ in tijuana or they have their own guys bring it in and break it up and sell it in smaller quantities 20,000$ a lb then. I hate the stuff it’s awful to see someone you care about destroy themselves with it.
