A structure fire was reported in the 1200 block of 10th Street in Eureka today. The fire, which was in a three-car garage, started before 6:15 p.m.

According to Humboldt Bay Fire Battalion Chief Kent Hulbert, the owner of the residence had been waterproofing the garage with a flammable material.

“It probably just got a little ember in there,” Hulbert said.

Hulbert estimated the structure sustained about $500 in damage.
