According to Chief Ken Woods from Humboldt Bay Fire, an adult male estimated to be in his seventies was found in Humboldt Bay about half way between I dock at Woodley Island and the  Samoa bridge this morning.

Two swimmers entered the water and it took approximately 90 seconds for the swimmers to reach the victim. Using the tide, the swimmers brought the victim to the shore near the boat house. The swimmers got the victim to shore and immediately initiated life saving measures.

The victim was unresponsive and transported by ambulance to St. Joseph’s Hospital.McKenna2

Hat tip to Mark McKenna who provided us with much of the information and the photos.
