Fire in Scotia Timber Company Lot
Multiple fire units responded to the Scotia Mill for a fire burning in a log deck. The first unit on scene, the Mill Incident Commander, said that the mill company had sent men and equipment to dismantle the log deck so that the fire could be fought.

Bummer. I thought they usually put a water spray system on stacked logs to prevent spontaneous combustion. With the drought maybe that was impossible.
The main reason they keep logs wet in warm weather is to prevent checking and decay. You see that more often in warmer inland locations like Weaverville.
