‘Medical Helicopter’ Being Sent to Traffic Collision on 36, Roadway Blocked
Medical crews are at the scene of a single-vehicle traffic collision at mile marker 35 of Highway 36. According to the scanner, it was initially reported that the patient wasn’t breathing. However, medical crews said over the scanner that the person is breathing. A “medical helicopter” has been requested to respond to the scene. The “roadway is blocked to the east.” We’ll update this post when we have more information.
Update 3:34 p.m.: The patient has head and chest injuries. The medevac helicopter is expected to get there in about an hour.
Update 3:40 p.m.: The patient is a female.
Update 3:45 p.m.: An ambulance has arrived at the scene and has said it can transport the patient.
Update 3:51 p.m.: According to the CHP Incident page, the car involved is a four-door sedan that is on its hood. Both lanes of Highway 36 are closed.
Update 4 p.m.: The accident is near Triumphant Life Camp.
Update 4:11 p.m.: Readers are reporting one lane of the road is open.
Update 4:25 p.m.: The patient is on the way to Mercy Hospital in Redding.

Not at this point, but I’ll add one if I hear it.
The CHP Incident page says it’s a four-door sedan on its hood, but that’s all I know at this point.
