Three Acre Vegetation Fire Burning Around Downed Power Lines

Cal Fire spokesperson Laura Coleman tells us there is a three acre vegetation fire burning in the Maple Creek area which is close to Korbel.

It is moving through grass into trees. Power lines are down but no structures are currently threatened. Full wildland response has been called.

Cal Fire as well as Kneeland and Blue Lake Fires are responding.

UPDATE 8:40 p.m.: According to Cal Fire, the Snow Fire was spotted at 7:04 p.m by the Kneeland Copter 102 when flying into the Kneeland Helitack Base. It is located of Hwy 299 in the Snow Camp/Maple Creek area. It had reached three acres before the forward progress was stopped. “[G]round resources will be on scene for the evening.”
