Humboldt Pride Week

Humboldt Pride

The 23rd annual Humboldt Pride Parade & Festival, a celebration for the LGBTQ Community and its many allies, is Saturday, September 12th. The Parade starts in Old Town at 11:30 am, and the Festival runs noon-5 pm at Eureka’s Halvorsen Park (1201 Waterfront Drive.)
The Parade and Festival are both free, familyfriendly and open to everyone. The day
will kick off with the Parade, starting at 1 st & C Streets in Old Town. As the parade arrives at Halvorsen Park at noon, the festival begins!

Anyone can join in the Parade. The Humboldt Pride website has the details, route and
timeline for joining the Parade: http://humboldtpride.org/parade/ .

The Festival includes a mainstage full of local entertainment, a DJ dance area, a children’s area with two bounce houses, food and drink, lots of local vendors and great fun!

The theme for this year’s event is “We Are Queer History”. Zakkary Zoah, a member of the Board of Directors, said: “With all of the historic wins for the LGBTQ Community
over the past year, it’s a good time to celebrate and educate about the history of the
LGBTQ Movement. Festival goers will see informative materials about many of the
significant actors in our movement.”

Major sponsors for the 2015 Humboldt Pride Parade & Festival include Blue Lake
Casino and Hotel, Good Relations, Pressure Anya, Umpqua Bank and Queer Humboldt.
Humboldt Pride, Inc. is an allvolunteer 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
