Suspicious Female Arrested in Connection With Stolen Vehicle, Says Fortuna Police
This is a press release from the Fortuna Police Department. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:
On September 7, 2015 at approximately 0740 hours, officers of the Fortuna Police Department were dispatched to a residence located in the 3000 block of Sunset View for the report of a suspicious female subject loitering in the area. The reporting party advised dispatch that the female had knocked on their front door prior to leaving in a green sedan.
While responding to the call, Officers located the green sedan abandoned in the 1900 block of Rohnerville Road. A female matching the description provided by the reporting party was also located within a few blocks of the abandoned vehicle. Through contact with the vehicles registered owner, officers were able to determine that the green Honda was an unreported stolen vehicle.
The female involved was identified as Angeleke Smith (21) of Fortuna. Smith was found to have previous arrests related to vehicle theft and is currently assigned to probation for vehicle theft. Smith was found to be in possession of items removed from the vehicle, along with items later discovered to have been removed from the victim’s business.
Angeleke Deanna Smith was arrested for the following offenses; Burglary, Possession of Stolen Property, Violation of Probation and Vehicle Theft.
She was transported and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility.
