Press release from the U.S. Forest Service, Shasta-Trinity National Forest and Six Rivers National Forest:

River Complex Fire Managers, in conjunction with the Trinity County Sheriff’s Department and Shasta Trinity National Forest have determined that some parts of the mandatory evacuation area within the complex can be opened to residents only, beginning today, and for the specified hours of 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The areas will be opened in three stages.
Residents that wish to return to their homes must have their names on the list that has been compiled and show proof of identification at the check point. Residents can contact the sheriff’s department at 530-623-2611.
Staffed security check points will be in place to ensure that residents only are entering the area, and that residents are not traveling beyond the limit of the staged area.
Stage 1: This stage will be for residents that have homes from the road closure at Drop Point 1 to Noble Lane. This includes the 5-Waters, Hoboken, Noble, and Daily Ranch communities only. Those residents that live in this area will be allowed to enter and leave between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. No entry or exit outside of those hours will be allowed.
Stage 2: This stage will extend up to Quimby Creek, and will be implemented as soon as firefighters have completed the Denny area structure protection plan. Implementation of the structure protection plan began yesterday, and is expect to take at least three daytime working shifts to complete. Unless fire activity increases, residents in the stage 2 area can plan to reenter early next week, or sooner as conditions allow.
Stage 3: This stage will extend the area to the New River Trailhead at the end of Denny Road. This stage will be implemented once fire managers have determined the area is safe for residents to return.
