YOUR FIRE MAPS 8/19/15

Here are today’s fire maps. Check out how the fires have changed for better or worse by comparing the images over time. Click the thumbnails at the bottom of this post for the PDF maps, and click the links below the thumbnails to go to the incident pages for each of the listed fires.

The Google Earth download does not include the Rocky, Jerusalem or Humboldt Fires because they are all either contained or near containment.

Thank you for your continuing coverage of the fire situations impacting Northern California.
I am annoyed when I hear reporting on NPR regarding the Bay Area complaining about the smoke problems they are experiencing from our conflagration. There is no mention of the devastating reality we are dealing with here. Even in the short state news blurbs on AM stations, they state that fires in Southern California are approaching containment. No mention of fire activity north of San Bernardino. It’s as if California’s border ends at the Marin County line. I saw a convoy of 18 National Guard rigs headed north on 101 in Eureka, so I know some form of government recognizes the severity of our plight… I have so much respect for firefighters, and empathy for the honest, respectable people whose homes and landscapes are being threatened…and the animals and birds.
