Denver Man’s Body Recovered Near College Cove

Press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:

On August 15, 2015 at about 1:30 PM the Sheriff’s Office was notified of a possibly deceased person on the beach at College Cove, Trinidad.

Due to the location of the body, assistance was requested by the Coast Guard Helicopter. The helicopter was able to place a USCG Rescue Swimmer and one Deputy Sheriff near the deceased person. Investigation at the scene indicated that the deceased person had fallen approximately 75 feet from the cliff above where the body was located. The body was subsequently moved to a safe location by the Coast Guard Helicopter.

The deceased person has been positively identified as Anthony Wayne Hodson, age 46, from Denver, Colorado. The Coroner’s Office is treating this incident as an accidental death.

Tony was our dear friend and a beloved father of four. He will be forever loved and honored in our hearts. He loved that beach (College Cove) and your prayers are greatly appreciated by his family. Rest in Peace our soul brotha!
