Burglary Suspect Arrested in Fortuna with over $4,000 Worth of Stolen Salon Property

This is a press release from the Fortuna Police Department. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

BrinsonOn August 16, 2015 at about 9:00 AM, Officers responded to a salon located in the 400 Block of N Fortuna Blvd for a report of a burglary. Upon arrival, officers determined that just after midnight two subjects had made entry into the business and stole the cash register as well as several thousand dollars of styling equipment and hair products.

At about 5:00 PM, officers responded to the 2600 block of Boone Street to conduct a probation search on a residence known for criminal activity. During the probation search, officers located over $4,000.00 in property which had been stolen from the salon.

Edward Brinson (Age 28) was arrested for possession of stolen property. Brinson was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility.

This case is still under investigation and the department is asking anyone with information to contact the department or the crime tip hotline at 1-800-78-CRIME.

I don’t understand where he thought he was going to sell the styling products. He should have just taken the cash or cash and register and called it good.
