Dustin Martin’s family and friends worry they might never see him again. Martin, age 44, was last known to be camping in the Post Mountain area of Trinity County during July. Although Martin disappeared before the lightning storm started, the resulting fires as well as the road closures and evacuations have impacted the ability of law enforcement and family members to search.

According to Heather Miller working with the Nor Cal Alliance for the Missing, the missing man has not contacted anyone since July 20th. An individual looking for Martin discovered his campsite unattended. His dog was there and so was his wallet and cell phone, Miller said.

Martin is 5’10” tall and weighs approximately 140 pounds. He has brown eyes, a brown and grey goatee, and long brown hair streaked with gray.

Anyone with information about the missing man is urged to call the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office at (530) 623-2611 or the Nor Cal Tipline at (530) 378-4491.

If he volunteered, I wouldn’t think he’d leave his dog, wallet & cell phone. It doesn’t sound good but for him & his family, I hope he is ok. This is the 2nd man in his 40’s camping who’s gone missing. One in SoHum & same thing; all his belongings & dog were left at his camp site. I hope law enforcement is looking into any possible connections. Hope they are both ok.

Dustin was my brother in laws father, Dustin Jr just passed away this week and people were hoping this news would hopefully get to him and he would make contact with us but nothing so far. I looked into the case you mentioned and that man went missing exactly a week after Dustin, I would think the police would make some sort of connection between the two? My family is heartbroken right now and needs answers.
