Man Hits Police Car While DUI, Says EPD
This is a press release from the Eureka Police Department. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:
On 08/13/15 at about 1:55 a.m., an Officer with the Eureka Police Department was driving west through the intersection of 4th and R Streets with a green light when a male traveling north in a Mitsubishi Gallant ran the red light and collided with the driver side of the patrol car.
Both vehicles sustained major damage and had to be towed from the scene. The Officer and the two occupants of the Gallant were not injured in the collision. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded and took over the investigation.
The driver of the Gallant was identified as David Hernandez, 23 of Mckinleyville. Hernandez displayed signs of alcohol intoxication and was ultimately arrested by CHP for driving under the influence.

Hahaha oh Karma’s a Bitch!!!sometimes you get what you deserve.
I’m glad no one was injured.
When a police officer is in an accident, do they take a mandatory blood alcohol test?
That would be nice.
hmmm, wonder what other charges will be filed since he hit a cop car? maybe destruction of police property? I’m just sayin that I’m sure he will be charged with something else besides a plain an simple DUI.
