Residential Structure Fire with Possible Spread to Vegetation Near Lone Star Junction

According to the scanner, fire crews are responding to a residential structure fire in the 1800 block of Tom Shaw Road that may be spreading to vegetation. Fire crews were requested after 5 p.m. today. We’ll update this post when we find out more information.

Update 5:27 p.m.: Scanner traffic indicates the structure is fully involved. Fire crews are saying the fire hasn’t spread to the vegetation “yet,” but there is potential for as many as 30 acres to burn if the fire does spread.

Update 5:35 p.m.: The fire has spread to the grass, and fire crews are going to attempt to set up a retardant perimeter.

Update 6:15 p.m.: According to the scanner, there are “possible power lines down.”

Update 6:28 p.m.: Cal Fire Spokesperson Laura Coleman says air and ground resources are committed to the fire, which is about one acre in size.

Update 9:47 p.m.: Coleman says the fire has been contained.
