Here are this morning’s fire maps. Check out how the fires have changed for better or worse by comparing the images over time. These are, in most cases, more accurate than the Inciweb maps. Click the thumbnails at the bottom of this post for the PDF maps, and click the links below the thumbnails to go to the incident pages for each of the listed fires.
[Note: The Rocky Fire maps haven’t yet been updated, but we will post those if and when we get them. However, we’ve added the Gasquet Complex for anyone who’s been wanting to see that one.]

WILLOWS, Calif. – The Mendocino National Forest is rapidly approaching containment on the final three fires from last weekend’s lightning and resources are starting to be released from the incidents.
The Etsel Fire on the Covelo Ranger District is approximately 32 acres and 100 percent contained. It is located in the Yuki Wilderness.
The Boardman Fire is approximately 95 acres and 40 percent contained. However, resources have made great progress on the fire.
The Deer Fire, burning southeast of Lake Pillsbury, is approximately 100 acres and 80 percent contained.
There continues to be a chance of thunderstorms this weekend. Firefighters will be watching for lightning fires which may result from the unsettled weather pattern.
Here is a link to the Google map that is centered on the fires in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. The arrows show the wind forecast from NOAA for roughly a 6hr look ahead.
To see the map legend and learn how to turn other wind forecast layers on/off, click “About this map” in the upper left corner.
