Hwy 20 Closed Due to Rocky Fire

Hwy 20 is now closed as the Rocky Fire crept northward today. The inferno started July 29 near Lower Lake and swelled to 22,500 acres and only 5% is considered contained. Cal Fire shared at 5:42 p.m. that the well-traveled road is now closed.

“Due to #RockyFire near Clear Lake, Highway 20 is closed from Highway 16 to Highway 53 for all through traffic in both directions,” A Californian fire department statement reads.

Berlant said on Twitter that the Rocky fire in Lake County grew to 22,500 acres and was five per cent contained.”

Some pretty scary pictures of Lake County’s fire on http://www.news.com.au/world/California. Tried posting a direct link but the blog would not accept it.
