Two Vegetation Fires Between Richardson’s Grove and Dean Creek in Short Time
Between approximately 11 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., three two fires sprung up along Hwy 101 between Richardson’s Grove and Dean Creek. One, we reported here. It ignited in south Benbow [near Twin Trees Bridge north of Richardson’s Grove.] The first crew on the scene stated that it could be put out relatively easily. The Dean Creek fire burns near the north Redway exit. It is about 100 feet square and firefighters believe it will soon be controlled. A third fire burns near Richardson Grove. The California Highway Patrol and State Parks are on scene [near Twin Trees] helping with traffic.
UPDATE 6:33 a.m.: According to the Southern Humboldt Fire Chiefs Association, “Garberville, Redway & Rio dell on cover assignment put out a 1/2 acre of mowed grass fire just north of [Richardson Grove] at Twin Bridges…” Garberville, Redway, Rio Del responded to the Dean Creek area to support Humboldt Bay Fire who were also on cover assignment. The Dean fire was a brush and grass fire that covered approximately “100×25′.

Any news on the Dean Creek fire?
We live near Richardson Grove & have not seen fire nor smelled any smoke. Haven’t heard any sirens either… Any additional info available?
I haven’t heard any more on any of these fires which should be a good sign.
