[UPDATE 7 p.m.] Law Enforcement Visiting South of Cooks Valley
At approximately 9 a.m., law enforcement began raiding properties south of Cooks Valley near Indian Creek. According to a witness, there are approximately seven vehicles and one helicopter. One of the white vehicles is hauling a chipper.
Officers are hanging from the helicopter on cables and being dropped into remote areas. At approximately 10:30 a.m., a local resident reported seeing “three trips with two dopes on a rope heading up Indian Creek towards Jones Creek so far.”
UPDATE 10:55 a.m.: According to a witness, there have been about six trips with the helicopter to the area where the raid is taking place.
UPDATE 5:52 p.m.: Mendocino Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that COMMET was operating near Piercy with the assistance of CAMP. In addition, we received a report that multiple vehicles plus a chipper were seen headed south about 5 p.m. Looks like the visit is over, folks.
UPDATE 7 p.m.:
Mendocino Sheriff’s Office says,
There was total of 8,222 plants eradicated and one person was detained at a 1,066 plant grow and later released pending a report being filed with the DA’s Office. Sounds like it was open field activity and not search warrant related.

Kym,you made my day!!2 dopes-on-a-rope.lol I’m loving it!thanks
It’s a common term in SoHum but, in spite of the way it looks here, it usually is said with some measure of admiration. Something like this “Whoa, man, those dopes on a rope are super ballsy. And they landed within a few feet of my neighbor’s garden!”
I meant no disrespect,it just struck me I have heard it before and now I remember where!!spent many years in the panther gap area.i do like your reporting it keeps me on top
Aw, thanks!
I love you man! No, I love you more.
Well maybe you can be on top next time.
Is this SoHum?
Just about as far north as you can get in Mendocino County. It snuggles right up on the Humboldt County line.
Thanks for the coverage.
Thanks for the info Kym. Was wondering what was going on.
Covering lightning fires now. So far no one showing on the booking logs. http://mcle1.co.mendocino.ca.us/NewWorld.Aegis.WebPortal/Corrections/InmateInquiry.aspx
