Hammer and Bat Assault, Robbery in Eureka, According to the Scanner

A woman who calls herself "Red" walked up to officers to tell them the woman who they were arresting didn't commit the crime.

A woman who calls herself “Red” walks up to officers to tell them the woman who they are arresting detaining across the street didn’t commit the crime.

It’s turning out to be a busy night for the Eureka Police Department (EPD).

EPD was dispatched to a report of 245 (Assault with a deadly weapon) and 211 (Robbery) near Sixth and V Streets in Eureka (See map Below) before 2 a.m. this morning.

According to the scanner, bats and hammers were used in the assault, and four female suspects were seen walking away from the scene with garbage bags and sleeping bags. EPD officers located suspects on Sixth Street between T and V Steets.

EPD officers refused to comment on the matter, but a male and a female were handcuffed and placed in police vehicles when this reporter arrived at the scene.

EPD officers were out searching for the victim, but they were having trouble locating her.
