Man Wanted in String of Burglaries Captured After Attempted Bank Burglary and More, Says Sheriff’s Office

This is a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and the individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

CaptureOn 07-18-2015, at about 2:00 A.M., the Hoopa Valley Tribal Police received a call for service regarding an alarm activation at the Coast Central Credit Union located on Hwy 96 in Hoopa, Ca. A Hoopa Valley Tribal Police Officer responded to the scene, and could see items strewn about inside the Bank. A Deputy from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist with the investigation.

The Law Enforcement Officers made entry into the Bank and determined there had been a burglary. It was discovered that someone had entered the Bank through the Air Conditioning ventilation system. Once inside the Bank, the subject collected U.S. coins and currency and placed it in a bag. However, the Bank’s alarm system was activated and the subject fled the scene, leaving the bag behind.

Law Enforcement conducted their investigation, and collected several items of evidence. They also viewed a portion of footage from the Bank’s video surveillance system. They were able to obtain a description of the suspect from the footage.

Prior to completing their investigation, at about 3:30 A.M., Hoopa Valley Tribal Police received another call for service at the Lucky Bear Casino located on Hwy 96 in Hoopa, Ca. It was reported there was a male subject on the roof of the Casino. Law Enforcement responded and prior to arriving on scene, they learned the Casino Security Staff had located an individual in some nearby bushes, and had detained him.

When Law Enforcement arrived on scene at the Casino, they conducted their investigation and learned Security Staff had heard some strange noises around the outside of the Casino. The Security Officers checked on the noise, but did not locate anyone. Later, a Security Officer that was in the lobby of the Casino happened to look up and see a human hand reaching through the Air Conditioning vent. The Security Officer notified other staff and they began searching for the subject. During their search for the subject, they heard footsteps on the roof. They went to the roof area and discovered the subject had made entry into the Casino through the Air Conditioning ventilation system. Security Officers were able to locate an individual in some bushes near the Casino. The Security Staff detained that subject until Police arrived.

Law Enforcement was able to identify the individual who had been detained, as Nicholas Cain Anderson, 24, of Salyer, Ca. Anderson is believed to be a suspect in a string of burglaries throughout Hoopa and Willow Creek.

Law Enforcement was further able to identify Anderson as being the burglary suspect they saw in the video surveillance footage they had just reviewed at Coast Central Credit Union.

Anderson was arrested and transported to the Humboldt County Correction Facility, where he was booked for multiple counts of burglary. He is being held on one hundred and five thousand dollars bail. The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office will be seeking a bail enhancement.

This is a perfect example of what a human failure is. What makes me angry is he was RELEASED ON BAIL just before starting his crime spree. This shows that the law allowing so-called low level offenders out of jail is a total sham and needs to be repealed. This guy has been in trouble with the law so much that I can guarantee you he will never learn.

This guy needs to be locked up and forgotten. or better yet, put on an remote island with his own kind. He is not fit to live in society.

Banks have stolen more from the average person than this “person” ever could dream of ripping off.

I would never convict anyone for “robbing” banks, it just seems like there is no victim- and banks aren’t people, so no victim – no crime.

I’ve no love-loss for banks, but Coast Central is pretty far-removed from Chase/citigroup/Barclay’s/goldman-sachs/JP Morgan and the ilk.

Given that depositers any for FDIC which covers these types of things, the victims are everyone who has paid for insurance on their deposits.

And, technically, CCCU is a credit union, which is member owned…. unlike banks.

Also, this scum bag has been ripping off anything he can grab for awhile…. mostly mom-and-pop places. The bank deal should put a nail in his figurative coffin before someone put one in his literal coffin. This arrest may have saved his ass.

CCCU isn’t there for you, just themselves- don’t be fooled. If it was REALLY member owned the profit would be split among depositors without a high overhead of desksitters. They print money through fractional lending and pass the inflation tax along to you just like the rest of the banking system.
Wonder how long he was in their building before the alarm went off…..would say a bunch about their security.
