The shooter is my son, he is from Connecticut. After shooting Mr. Line and crashing up his vehicle, my son went down into the woods below the road in Forest Glen and committed suicide. His body was found on July 27, 2015. He was cremated at Trinity Hills Funeral Home and his remains are here in CT. My son has severe mental illness and was drug dependent. I am so sorry for the loss of Mr. Line and sorry that the other man was injured. I hadn’t seen my son, Scott, in over 9 years, he abandoned his loving family here in Ct.

There were no witnesses to this shooting, there was no one besides the shooter, Scott DiMartino and Mr. Steven Line in that trailer when this occurred. I know this because Scott was my son and this information came to me from the sheriff’s office’s investigator. The shooter, Scott DiMartino, committed suicide that same day and his remains were found on July 27, 2015. I am his mother.

Once again your article is more informative and intelligently written compared to the Outpost. Most importantly though you choose to respect the victims family and not name names until everyone was notified. Your the best! Keep up the awesome moral journalism!

Did you notice that last night a person claiming to be the victim’s daughter posted about it?
That would seem to be appropriate for journalists to verify with that person and then post the name.
Waiting for the often slow and ponderous police press release isn’t best journalism practice either.

Yeah morally wrong when you post pictures of my dead family members before anyone in my family was notified. thanks a lot. What a way for us to find out . GREAT REPORTING. Do you remember the car wreck a couple weeks ago?
