Vegetation Fire Out Highway 36

Scanner traffic indicates fire crews are responding to a “small” vegetation fire near mile marker 5.6 on Highway 36. Dispatchers are saying over the scanner that multiple people are calling in about the fire. We’ll update when we find out more information.

UPDATE 2:50 P.M.: The fire has been extinguished, and fire crews are going to remain on scene to monitor the spot.
