On 07-01-2015 at 3:50 p.m. a Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Deputy responded to the 3800 block of Union Street, Eureka, regarding an assault in progress. When the deputy arrived on scene he contacted a 42 year old male victim and detained a 55 year old, female suspect late identified as April Dianne Showers.

The deputy then spoke to witnesses and the male victim, who relayed the following information. Showers and the victim have been in a dating relationship for over 10 years. They had recently broken up and today, Showers came over to the victim’s apartment. When Showers arrived she began yelling and throwing rocks up in the air and throwing rocks towards the victim. Showers also picked a piece of aluminum framing and threw it towards the victim, but she missed him. Showers then spit in the victim’s face.

The victim showed the deputy red marks on his body where he was stuck by rocks that Showers threw at him. The victim said he was in fear of his life when Showers was assaulting him. The victim did not require medical treatment for his injuries. When Showers was throwing the rocks up in the air, one of the rocks came down and struck her in the head. Showers received a small wound to her head, but she refused medical treatment.

Showers was placed under arrest for assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence. Showers was then transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility. During the booking process methamphetamine was located hidden on Shower’s body. Showers was then also booked for possession of methamphetamine. Shower’s bail was set at $50,000 dollars.

Climate change for sure. April showers in July and it’s raining rocks. It may be time to reassess my debunker status.
