[UPDATE: 1:50 p.m.] Law Enforcement Raiding in Island Mountain Area

kmud (1 of 1)According to numerous readers and KMUD, a convoy that may contain as many as 50 law enforcement vehicles headed into the Island Mountain/Hogg Trap Road area this morning and are visiting multiple properties. Many, KMUD says, are from the Mendocino County Sheriff. Others appear to be from environmental agencies.

UPDATE 1:50 p.m.: Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office press release:

Mendocino SheriffOn 06-22-2015 at 7:00 AM Deputies from Humboldt, Trinity and Mendocino Counties began serving several search warrants in the Island Mountain area associated with large scale marijuana cultivation sites.

Personnel from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife were assisting Deputies as it was suspected that situations of water diversion, water theft and environment degradation would be discovered.

Specific details of the search warrant services will be released on 06-23-2015 as information becomes available.

I think letting them use things like “five gallons per plant per day” for the public yardstick will be contributing to their zeal for this kind of activity… and asset forfeiture, etc. It’s a shame. You look at that area on Google Maps and it looks like people are leading darn mellow lives out there. Not today.

50 vehicles? Not necessary unless they plan to raid everyone at once.
There are more than a few repeat offenders out there. For that reason It’s a good thing the grape vine works quickly in them parts. Probably very few people home by the time the fuzz arrived.

Anyone have anymore info? Really 50 vehicle? How many properties visited? Any arrests? Feds or just locals? Sweep the neighborhood like they did burr valley last year taking out everyone (including small time locals) or just big scenes with nasty grading?

Any first hand accounts?

Have They made any New updates on what search warrants were served where .I listened to the 10min interview from the lead sheriff but he sure didn’t seem to know a awful lot about nothing. …
