Making good progress on fire! Aircraft has been released. Ground crews still at scene

UPDATE 6:23 P.M.: Coleman says the “start time” was 4:54 p.m. Miranda Fire, Salmon Creek Fire, Briceland Fire and Cal Fire responded to the scene.

Coleman says, “1 AIR TACTICAL, 2 TANKERS, 1 HELICOPTER, 3 TYPE 1 HAND CREWS, 1 DOZER, 5 ENGINES RESPONDING AND/OR AT SCENE.”

UPDATE 5:57 P.M.: Cal Fire spokesperson Laura Coleman says the cause of the fire is unknown and sends along these photos.

UPDATE 5:46 P.M.: According to the scanner, fire crews are making progress on the fire, and it appears to be at about one acre.

UPDATE 5:30 P.M.: From Cal Fire’s Twitter Page:

Originally: Scanner traffic indicates a vegetation fire near Early Ranch Road and Thomas Road in the Salmon Creek area. At this point, they are referring to the fire as the “Early Ranch Project.” As usual, details are scarce but we will update when we find out more information.
