Let’s not waste our tax dollars! It’s very apparent that someone wanted to turn a gun in, probably found it in the woods and dint want anything to do with it.
What’s there to investigate, it says here it wasn’t registered to anyone, get it together already and stop wasting our money!

How is it even possible to be “not registered” ? What? Is it home made? I can think of many reasons why a person would not want to come forward and admit that they have a gun that they want to safely dispose of. Much ado about nothing.

What if the firearm was involved in a crime. Not to far reaching to believe that may be the case. Until 1995 most gun purchases were not registered and they never should be in mho. Let the Sherriff and his crew figure out where what and why and all will be good in the hood

Hopefully they’ll run a ballistics test on it if they can get it to fire in case it has been used in a past crime and then melt the gun or whatever they do to destroy guns these days.

Anybody know what the policy is on guns that have been surrendered?

It seems logical to me. You send your unwanted children to the fire department, why wouldn’t you send your unwanted guns to the post office?
I just dropped off my scrap metal at the emergency room.
All is good.
