Biggest Little Critters in the Creek

“Biggest Little Critters in the Creek,” a free, guided hike to discover macroinvertebrate creatures, will kick off the annual King Range summer hike series on Northern California’s Lost Coast Saturday, June 13, at 10 a.m.
Participants will meet at 10 a.m. at the BLM Wailaki Campground in the King Range National Conservation Area. They will wade into the creek to learn more about these important, tiny organisms. Hikers should bring water and insect repellent.
Macroinvertebrates are animals that lack a backbone, but are large enough to be seen with the naked eye. They are an important part of the food chain and important indicators of water quality.

Beautiful picture.i enjoy feeding dalphia.waterfleas are so beautiful when fed algae fed cristalized,mineral phytoplankton.chorella’s bloom reverses tumor formation so common in goldfish,a fish like koi or carp.the guppy filter feeds in place,on green tinted water,the rollypolly bug vibrates when fed this ambient bloom.and I love talking about phrinasomas’ increased egg production,when fed big,biting ants fed this’s bloom.twelve extra eggs from my familiar a horned toad.im usually banned from lost coast outpost .im not aligned with their fertilizer business,Brinks and fed ex and cops.
I hope all participants will enjoy this outing but please don’t put on insect repellent and then go wading in the water looking for insects!
