Alleged Assault at Marijuana Grow; Victim in ‘Stable’ Condition

The following is a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:

HCSOOn 06-05-2015 at about 1:30 p.m. a Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office responded to a local hospital to take a report of an assault that occurred in the 31000 block of Highway 36. The 27 year old male victim said (3) three unknown white males with masks entered his property. They then assaulted the victim in the head with the butt end of a rifle or shotgun. One of the suspects then fired at least one shot at a second, 28 year old male victim, who was not struck by the bullet. The suspects then fled from the property.

Deputies later responded to the property to secure the scene and determine if there were additional victims. No other victims were located on the property. Deputies located a marijuana growing operation on the property. The marijuana growing operation was determined to be in compliance with a medicinal marijuana growing operation.

The victim, who was struck in the head with the firearm, is currently being treated at an undisclosed hospital for a fractured skull and several brain bleeds. The victim was examined by neurosurgeon, and is still being monitored in ICU at this time. The victim is currently is stable condition.

This case is still under investigation by the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office

On it’s face the information in this press release does not relate to marijuana, except to probably rule it out as a factor in the attack.

This is why a compliant grower should always keep a shotgun at hand himself! There’s no law that says you can’t defend your life with equally lethal force is there?
Our founding fathers had major growing operations and would have recommended to bear arms for reasons like this!
