Two Vehicle Accident on Alderpoint Road
CHP dispatch and scanner traffic shows two vehicles–a silver Volvo and a black car–collided on Alderpoint Road about a mile east of Garberville at approximately 5:23 p.m. Reportedly, there are no injuries. Debris is on the roadway and emergency vehicles are headed to the scene so please be careful in the area.
UPDATE 5:40 p.m.: One person is indicating they might need medical attention.

It wasn’t my “silver” Volvo. I was safe at home.
Not surprised. Drove to town the other day, nothing but trucks loaded to the gills with grow supplies and speeding cars. Almost got hit twice.
Yes, those large tractor trailers of grow supplies were never meant to be driven on narrow, twisting, 2 lane roads. It is extraordinary that we don’t have more accidents from them because there are plenty of them. Every remote store has a garden section now with pallets of soil and amendments. Pickup trucks, especially new ones, are another major back roads problem. The drivers are often young, relatively inexperienced, and quite heedless of the danger they present to themselves or others by the way they drive. Fast and often partially in the on-coming traffic lane, they are a major threat to safety.
