Alleged Arsonist Arrested in Post Office

This is a press release from the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and the individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

On May 17, 2015 at approximately 12:30am the Trinity County Sheriff’s Dispatch Center received a call that there was a trash can on fire outside of the Junction City Post Office in Junction City. When fire personnel arrived on scene they requested that a Deputy respond to the location due to a subject inside the Post Office acting suspiciously who might have possibly started the trash can fire.

 

When the Trinity County Sheriff’s Deputy arrived on scene he located a subject in the Post Office who identified himself as Timothy Moore. The Deputy questioned Moore through the Post Office door as Moore blocked the door so the Deputy could not enter the building. Moore became agitated with the Deputy and began screaming at the Deputy. Additional units were requested and arrived on scene. Moore continued to not comply with Officers’ requests to exit the building. Officers then made entry into the Post Office to arrest Moore. The suspect became combative towards the Officers once they entered the building. Once he was subdued Moore was arrested and transported to the Trinity County Jail where he was booked on the above charges. He is still in custody on $75,000.00 bail.
