Fugitive Arrested by Fortuna PD in 2012 Goes on Trial for Murder This Week
In 2012 Fortuna Police arrested a fugitive suspected of fatally stabbing a 19-year-old woman in Fairfield. This week the man, Warren Herman Sloan III, goes on trial.
A newspaper in Fairfield covering the story wrote,
According to testimony from a 2013 probable cause hearing, Watson was stabbed as many as 26 times in the back yard of an abandoned home on Fourth Street.
Fairfield police detectives recovered a suspected murder weapon, which according to a state Department of Justice criminalist, revealed blood and a DNA profile that matched a profile for Watson’s DNA….
Sloan is also accused of committing a second murder just weeks apart from Watson’s slaying.

Fortuna has a great police force. And that’s saying a lot from an ex criminal.
Im proud the jury came back in less than 90 min.
