Fugitive Arrested by Fortuna PD in 2012 Goes on Trial for Murder This Week

SloanIn 2012 Fortuna Police arrested a fugitive suspected of fatally stabbing a 19-year-old woman in Fairfield. This week the man, Warren Herman Sloan III, goes on trial.

A newspaper in Fairfield covering the story wrote,

According to testimony from a 2013 probable cause hearing, Watson was stabbed as many as 26 times in the back yard of an abandoned home on Fourth Street.

Fairfield police detectives recovered a suspected murder weapon, which according to a state Department of Justice criminalist, revealed blood and a DNA profile that matched a profile for Watson’s DNA….

Sloan is also accused of committing a second murder just weeks apart from Watson’s slaying.
