Vegetation Fire Threatened Structures Near Crescent City This Morning

According to scanner traffic, a vegetation fire near Lake Earl in Crescent City threatened structures this morning. A helicopter from the Humboldt area was dispatched to assist.

Cal Fire spokesperson Laura Coleman confirmed the situation. She said that CalFire and local fire departments responded to two separate fires. The fires burned approximately two acres. A local helicopter was dispatched and used. “Spread has been stopped [and the] fire has been contained, ” she said. “The fire has been contained but is not yet controlled.
