[New Estimate of 5 Acres] Structure Fire Near Hoopa Spread to Wildlands
A structure fire near Hoopa has spread to surrounding vegetation. At this time the fire is believed to be approximately three acres. The fire is located near mile marker 12.15 on Hwy 96. Hoopa Fire and Willow Creek Fire as well as Cal Fire are responding.

Responding on an agency assist to Hoopa. Structure fire with spread to the wildland – 3 acres. Two engines and a crew.

UPDATE 7:03 p.m.: Fire is now at 7 acres. Spokesperson Laura Coleman, said that Cal Fire is responding with two engines, two crews and one “overhead.” Willow Creek Fire is there with a water tender and Hoopa Fire is there also.
UPDATE 9:19 p.m.: Cal Fire is committing their resources to the fire overnight which is now estimated to be 5 acres.
Updated Monday: All resources home. Fire is contained.

Knowing that Hoopa has firebugs that I read about in the news from time to time, I wonder if this was arson?
