Armed Partially Nude Man Arrested With Stolen Firearm Early This Morning
This is a press release from the Arcata Police Department. The information has not been proven in a court of law and the individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:
On 5/08/2015 at about 1:19am, Officers from the Arcata Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of 7th and K Streets on the report of a male subject, with no pants or underwear, having fired a shotgun.
Officers quickly located the partially nude male subject walking in the 900 block of 5th Street. Given the circumstance of there being a large residential party one block away with numerous celebrants in attendance, officers quickly surrounded the male subject at gunpoint who had now fled northbound on J Street. The subject complied with officer demands to lower himself to the ground where he was then detained in handcuffs without further incident.
The partially nude subject was identified as Arcata resident Chaise Allen Horn (age 21).
The firearm, a .22 caliber Heckler & Koch brand assault style rifle, was located in the front yard of a private residence directly next to where Horn was first sighted by police. The firearm was affixed with a silencer and large capacity magazine. The firearm was loaded with one bullet chambered when it was located by police.
It was further discovered that the firearm had been reported stolen to the North Las Vegas Police Department in August of 2014.
Horn was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked on the following charges:
- PC 25850(a) – Possession of a Loaded Firearm
- PC 33410 – Possession of a Silencer
- PC 30605(a) – Possession of an Assault Weapon
- PC 32310 – Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine
- PC 496(a) – Possession of Stolen Property
The Arcata Police Department would again like to thank the citizens of Arcata for their diligence in assisting their police department with deterring crime and saving their fellow citizens from harm.
