Hey I work at the bar in Shelter Cove…I have a couple of residents of Hungry Gulch who have been out here all day at the beach, just finding out about the fire, wondering how far out … One bridge, two bridge, switch backs, the fire is/was. Thanks.
Let me see what I can’t find out.
Sorry, it was too late to reach the local guys by the time I got the message. By now the Hungry Gulch folk probably have a good idea of where it happened.
Tell them to look at the pic and they will know if it’s there place

“Need more starts. STAT!”
The fire was at the very top of the ridge. Over four bridges and then all the way up. Response was two Cal Fire engines, Two Whitethorn engines, and two Telegraph Ridge engines, and the CAL fire chopper.
Locks had to be cut on a couple of gates to gain access. I advise locals not to replace the locks for a few days, as CAL fire will visit the site a few times to make sure there is no rekindle.
Thank you. The best part of the blog is people with information sharing it!
I saw the fire and Caled it on on my fire radio. I helped pin point locating and akcess then watched copter 102 drop it’s loads .it was very windy up hear a little later and it could have been bad. People please be smart we are ripe for a big fire.
